Again, I dared an upgrade of my Linux distribution. The last time I did an online distribution upgrade of Ubuntu it resulted in an unusable system. As posted back then it might have mostly been a hardware issue...
Today, everything went smoothly and after about 3,5 hours I had automatically almost without any user interaction downloaded, installed and cleaned up the operating system and was ready using a whole punch of up-to-date applications!
That's the way one wants it to be... not as in the past when one had to invest tons of hours to get the whole thing working on an up-to-date system level...
Maybe technology is not all that bad as I might have thought it to be ;-)

As a computer engineering professional I thought it would be a good idea to get in touch with this Web 2.0 movement and all these flashy new social web applications. Having a record of being not very inclined to writing for fun I am quite curious if I will be able to bring this blog to live...
